From various past contacts with both, shippers and their forwarders we understood that providing an independent and reliable source of market price and conditions can help to save significant amounts of costs and time for the RFQ process.
Even better, the use of an independent third party will simultaneously improve the relationship with contract partners as prolongation or amendments of existing contracts can be judged better from either party. Just recently we have been informed that an existing single trade lane contract between an automotive supplier and its forwarder has been enlarged by awarding four more trade lanes to this existing contract. Because of the past consequent monitoring and price transparency this was done without the pain and workload of a new RFQ process. |
