Ban on night flights - stop the noise

German Television (ARD, Das Erste) reports in it's economic magazine "Plus Minus" about consequences of the night flights ban at Frankfurt airport. Head of aviainform, Dirk Steiger stated "Once airfreight, thus an essential part of Frankfurt's overall business, will move to other (likely foreign) airports, we'll see many connections to disappear. On mid term, Frankfurt as an important hub gives up it's place in the Champion's League."

Night flight ban at Frankfurt affects mostly cargo airline

Czech financial newspaper "Financny Noviny" reported about the Federal Administrative Court's decision to ban night flights at Frankfurt. The report further said that passenger connections to the Czech Republic are not affected. It further quoted a statement of Dirk Steiger that other German airports such as Cologne or Leipzig could face similar issues in the future.

Logisticians suffer crash landing in Leipzig

MM-LogistiK Magazine reports on consequneces of the judgmement of the night ban at Frankfurt airport, that has been made today in Leipzig. Along with quoted statements given by Christoph Franz, CEO of Lufthansa, the logistics perdiodical also referred to a statement of Dirk Steiger in the "Handelsblatt", which put the current night allowances of Cologne and Leipzig into question.

Night flights ruling could undermine air transport industry

Germany's leading daily business newspaper "Handelsblatt" to report on consequences and possible scenarios if judge Rubel of the Federal Administrative Court in Leipzig will deliver its ruling today.

The article quoted several statements of aviainform's Dirk Steiger, stating that a night ban in Frankfurt might impact other airports in Germany, such as Cologne or Leipzig. "Even if a total night ban today may not impact immediately the nation's access to global logistics streams, but what about this situation in five or ten years onward?" he said.
