A Rebound in the Air?

Dirk Steiger commented and contributed to an article in the Journal of Commerce, USA whether air carriers can count on 2010 outlook: "Most of the cuts in airline networks have affected routes involving second- and third-tier markets, raising the importance of major air cargo gateways. This trend has been reinforced by large forwarders’ efforts to rein in costs by consolidating traffic at major hubs". As overall cargo volume fell, the big hub airports have been able to absorb these shifts in traffic without glitches, but a rapid rise in volume could lead to bottlenecks, the article concluded.
