February 11, 2010 - DENIC, the German Internet registrar registered by January 17, 2010, over 13.7 million Top Level domains (.DE) in Germany. About 177m Top-level domains (TLD) have been registered globally in 2008 with an expected Year-over-Year increase by 16 per cent. By today, more than 200m TLD’s already exist while at the end of Year 2010 almost 240m domains will be registered. Typically you will visit these top-level domains, also known as web addresses, using your Browser. So the choice of sites to visit or content to view is almost endless.

 

Most popular sites are considered only those, which belong to the Top 100.000 most visited sites in the Country. Many of these sites in Germany are famous names such as Google.de, Google.com; Youtube.com; ebay.de or Wikepedia.org. After re-launching its new web presence back in December last year, the aviainform site and content attracted a fantastic amount of new visitors and is now in the Top 100.000 league (Alexa.com).

With the introduction of the new content aviainform has also installed tracking services to better understand what visitors from around the world are looking for and which content is being asked frequently.
