Deutsches Verkehrsforum - Frachtraten

Handelsblatt reports on additional cost due to the obligation to scan belly freight from summer 2010. During the global downturn this is another threat for the airfreight industry. According to Handelsblatt there is slight hope for airfreight and further market consolidation likely. Referring to aviainform's Freight Market Outlook 2010 continued overcapacities and weakening financial performance are identified as drivers of further market consolidation.

Blue Wings fliegt direkt nach Bagdad

Blue Wings has launched four times weekly flights between Germany and Iraq. The Dusseldorf-based carrier operates the flights in cooperation with national carrier Iraqi Airways. Iraqi Airway's efforts to relaunch its international flights are supported by Blue Wings. The prospects for this venture are good. aviainform´s managing director Dirk Steiger expects an increasing passenger and freight demand to Iraq.
