| HACTL's August volume rises 17.5per cent |

Hong Kong airport's No 1 ground handler, Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Ltd (Hactl), freight movement increased 17.5 per cent in August year on year to 243,039 metric tons. This was attributed to the global economic recovery that boosted cargo traffic world wide, and increased Hactl's overall volume 33.9 per cent year on year to 1.89 million tons from January to August. August exports were up 25.8 per cent year on year to 135,826 tons while imports increased 9.2 per cent to 61,131 tons. Transshipment volume increased 7.4 per cent to 46,082 tons.
