Logistics is a pioneer of globalization, a growing market, where approx. 2.7 million people are now employed in Germany. The day of logistics is to sharpen the perception of logistics in the public and inspire especially young people for a career in logistics. The total value of logistics in industry, commerce and services reached in Germany in 2009 well over 200 billion. For 2010, growth is forecast by about one percent. Logistics remains the third largest economic sector in Germany - behind automotive and commerce.
